Radiant Logistics isolated Canadian operations after March 2024 cyberattack

Radiant Logistics, a Renton, Washington freight forwarding and logistics technology company, told the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission that its monitoring tools detected the early stages of a cybersecurity incident affecting its Canadian operations on or about March 14, 2024.

In a filing made on March 20, 2024, the company said it responded by isolating the Canadian operations from the rest of its network and activating its incident response and business continuity protocols. It engaged outside cybersecurity and forensics specialists to assess, contain and remediate the intrusion.

The containment measures caused service delays for customers in Canada. Radiant said recovery work was under way and estimated it would be largely complete within the following week. Operations in the United States and its other international markets continued without material disruption.

The company said the incident had not had a material impact on its overall operations and that it had not determined the event was reasonably likely to materially affect its financial condition or results. Radiant did not state what type of malware, if any, was involved. The Record reported on March 20, 2024 that no extortion group had claimed responsibility and that the company had not confirmed whether ransomware played a role.
