TEAM Software, a Nebraska company that sells workforce, payroll and financial management software to cleaning, security and facility services contractors, disclosed a network intrusion affecting approximately 99,525 people.
The company said it detected suspicious activity in its application platforms on July 26, 2024 and brought in outside cybersecurity specialists. The investigation concluded that an unauthorized party had access to its network infrastructure between July 25 and July 26, 2024, and that files containing personal information had been involved.
The exposed data included names, Social Security numbers and driver's license numbers. Medical information was also among the categories listed in the state attorney general breach filings.
TEAM Software filed a breach notice with the Massachusetts attorney general on October 24, 2024 and reported the incident to the Maine attorney general's office. It began mailing notification letters to affected individuals on November 12, 2024 and offered twelve months of identity monitoring through Experian. Several U.S. law firms announced investigations into potential class action claims within weeks of the letters going out. ClassAction.org later reported that a 1.5 million dollar settlement was reached to resolve the resulting litigation.
